New CD | Omaggio a János Sebestyén

This 2-CD edition features selections from the organ and harpsichord recordings made by János Sebestyén in Italy for the Angelicum label. The recently recovered master tapes, recorded by Thomas Gallia between 1963 and 1970, have been meticulously restored for this release. The program includes organ concertos by Haydn and Handel, solo organ works by Zipoli, Frescobaldi, Pasquini, Aldrovandini, Kozeluch, Speth, and Walther, concerto transcriptions for solo harpsichord by Bach, and the Eight Little Preludes and Fugues for organ traditionally ascribed to Bach. Photos and essays found in the CD booklet recount the story behind these recordings and the decades-long friendship between János Sebestyén, Thomas Gallia, and Paul Déry. Program details and purchase information for this limited edition can be found at Discogs. A complimentary copy is also available upon request.
